Ten men are facing pandering charges in Gwinnett County after a July 3 undercover sting aimed at commercial sexual exploitation, according to sheriff's officials. Deputies say each suspect showed up expecting to meet someone offering sexual services, only to discover that person was an undercover deputy waiting with handcuffs instead of a hotel key. Two of the men also left with drug-related charges on their records.

According to WSB-TV, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office ran the operation and arrested the men on suspicion of pandering. The station reports that Brian Huertas was charged with felony pandering, possession of methamphetamine and possession and use of drug-related objects, while Adib Jaberi faces felony pandering and possession of Schedule I and Schedule II controlled substances. The other eight suspects, identified as Relemon Adams, Jose Delgado Ontiveros, Justin Logan, Ashton Mason, Rakesh Patel, Leonard Roberson, Jarrod Sheppard and Chetan Vekariya, were each booked on felony pandering counts, the outlet says.

What the charges mean

Per the text of Senate Bill 547, which took effect July 1, 2026, Georgia revised penalties for pimping and pandering so that repeat offenses can be charged as felonies punishable by one to 10 years in prison. The crime of pandering, generally defined as soliciting someone to perform an act of prostitution, may be elevated in cases involving minors, coercion or prior convictions; an overview of the statute is available from local legal resources.

Undercover stings are common in Gwinnett

The July 3 sweep is the latest in a series of reverse-sting operations across Gwinnett County, where investigators have used undercover calls and online ads to zero in on buyers and alleged traffickers. Earlier this year, CBS Atlanta reported on a Duluth case that began with a robbery call and later produced human-trafficking and pimping charges, and March Norcross bust coverage documented a March Norcross bust that recovered alleged victims and led to additional arrests.

What’s next

The men were booked into the Gwinnett County Jail and will face prosecution in local courts, officials said. “The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to proactively investigating crimes associated with commercial sexual exploitation through enforcement operations,” the agency said, per WSB-TV. Investigators did not immediately say whether additional arrests or referrals to victim services are expected as detectives continue to follow leads.
