Hendersonville police say a registered sex offender picked just about the worst possible place to sit down Monday morning: a bench beside a playground where children were present near a local daycare.
Officers identified the man as Keith Barcus and said he was arrested without incident on a charge of violating Tennessee's sex-offender registry rules. He was booked into the Sumner County Jail and is being held on bond while the case moves through the courts.
According to FOX 17, officers started investigating around 9:11 a.m. after reports that Barcus was walking near a daycare in the 100 block of Indian Lake Boulevard. When they arrived, they found him sitting on a bench close to the playground where children were present and arrested him on a charge of violating Tennessee's Sex Offender Registry requirements. The outlet reports the arrest was made without incident.
