Deputies say the collision happened about 9 p.m. on July 4 near Cambridge Street, when a northbound Toyota struck the right side of Garcia’s bicycle as he crossed from west to east in the middle of the block. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue took him to St. Mary’s Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The driver kept going north, authorities say, and neither the motorist nor the vehicle has been identified.
