In a brief late-night post, Portland Fire & Rescue reported that “Engine 22 is establishing a water supply from a different hydrant” and “Engine 26 readjusts to a secondary hydrant,” adding that interior crews had the fire inside knocked down, according to Portland Fire & Rescue. The bureau timestamped the update at 06:55:22 UTC on July 23, 2026, which was 11:55 p.m. PDT on July 22.
Why crews switched hydrants
