A 33-year-old man is behind bars after Miami police say he tailed a woman into a Little Havana apartment elevator, groped her twice and then exposed himself in a hallway. Authorities identified the suspect as Delroy Ambursley Lindo, who remains in custody on indecent exposure and battery charges. Officers say his description is similar to several other Little Havana-area reports that are still under investigation.
What police say
According to police, Lindo sprinted into the elevator from the sidewalk, closed in on the victim’s face and asked in Spanish if she was Cuban and how old she was before grabbing her buttocks, as reported by WSVN. Officers say he grabbed her a second time as she stepped off on the second floor, prompting the woman to bang on a neighbor’s door for help. Investigators arrested Lindo more than 24 hours later near Southwest 14th Avenue and Southwest 8th Street, according to police.
Arrest, prior record and courtroom orders
When the neighbor opened the door, police say Lindo began masturbating in front of both women. A witness told investigators they had seen him in the area before and watched him run away with what appeared to be semen on his hand. Officers noted that his description lined up with two earlier incidents reported in Little Havana, and court and police records show three prior indecent exposure related convictions dated July 2025, July 2024 and August 2023. The arrest report states Lindo told the victim "adios" before leaving. A judge later set bond at $6,000 and ordered him to have no contact with the victim, according to WSVN.
Charges and what they mean
Lindo faces one count of felony indecent exposure as a second or subsequent offense and one count of misdemeanor battery. Under Florida law, a second or later conviction for exposing sexual organs is a third-degree felony that can bring prison time and fines, according to the Florida Statutes, chapter 800. The case will move through Miami’s criminal courts while prosecutors decide whether to file formal charges.
