Friday will be mostly sunny and hotter, with a high near 94 degrees and heat index values reaching around 107. A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives late in the afternoon, mainly after 4 p.m.
The rain threat increases Friday night, when showers and thunderstorms are likely and the chance of precipitation rises to 60%. Some storms could deliver brief heavy downpours, though the overall severe-weather threat is expected to remain limited.
Cooler Weekend Follows The Front
Showers and storms could linger into Saturday morning before becoming more scattered through the afternoon. Saturday’s high should be near 89 degrees with west winds of 10 to 15 mph and a 60% chance of rain.
The weekend turns noticeably cooler behind the front, with Sunday’s high near 84 degrees and only a slight chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. Monday and Tuesday stay relatively comfortable by Memphis standards, with highs around 88 and 91 degrees, respectively.
Low 90s Return Next Week
Mostly sunny conditions are expected Wednesday, when temperatures climb back toward 93 degrees. Rain chances remain low through the middle of next week, but humidity is expected to build again, potentially pushing heat index values back into the triple digits by Tuesday and Wednesday.
