A woman was shot early Wednesday at the Victorian Condominiums on the 6200 block of Riverside Drive in Metairie, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to the complex and the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment while investigators began working the scene.
Fox 8 reported that the shooting was called in at about 8:30 a.m. The station noted that the sheriff’s office did not immediately release the victim’s age or condition as detectives continued processing the area around the Victorian Condominiums.
Another recent shooting on the block
Wednesday’s gunfire marks the second shooting on the same 6200 block of Riverside Drive in a matter of weeks. On June 24 deputies were called to the block after a woman was shot. That victim later died, and authorities arrested 33‑year‑old Kennedy George in connection with the case. WDSU reported that George was initially booked on attempted second‑degree murder and a weapons charge, and prosecutors later upgraded the case.

Officials have not released any details about a possible motive in Wednesday’s shooting. As of Fox 8’s latest update, the sheriff’s office had not announced any arrests. Detectives remained at the complex, gathering evidence and speaking with potential witnesses.
