Pura Vida, the wellness café brand that started in Miami, has staked out a high-profile Flatiron flagship at 100 5th Ave, its largest New York outpost to date. The all-day spot pairs the brand's usual health-focused menu with a new soft-serve Greek frozen yogurt program, in a bright, high-ceilinged space built for everything from pre-work coffee runs to drawn-out weekend brunches. The opening also brings new savory plates to town, including a 100% grass-fed sirloin, along with frozen-yogurt flavors that skip added sugar.
In a statement to QSR Magazine, co-founder Omer Horev said, "New York has embraced Pura Vida in a way that has exceeded our expectations," calling the Flatiron café a major milestone for the company. The brand is pitching the Fifth Avenue space as a community "third space" for the neighborhood rather than a simple grab-and-go counter.
Zero-Added-Sugar Soft-Serve
The Flatiron menu debuts a soft-serve Greek frozen yogurt sweetened with allulose, a low-calorie sugar alternative the company says keeps things creamy without added sugar. Opening flavors include Berry Bliss, finished with toasted coconut and fresh berries, and Amalfi Swirl, dressed up with a premium nut blend and a drizzle of high-quality olive oil, according to What Now.
Flagship Scale And New Menu Moves
The 5th Avenue address is Pura Vida's biggest buildout so far, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, outdoor seating and interiors that play off the building's original Corinthian columns, per Pura Vida Miami. The Flatiron debut is part of a rapid national push: the company has passed roughly the 50-location mark across the country, and this café is listed as the brand's 53rd location and its eighth in New York City, as noted by QSR Magazine.
Why Flatiron Made Sense
Flatiron's mix of office workers, shoppers and tourists has turned the area into a magnet for flagships and curated cafés, a trend local coverage has tracked in recent months. That steady blend of weekday commuters and casual foot traffic has given brands room to test larger, design-forward spaces tailored to office-heavy crowds, according to the outlet.
Ordering And What's Next
Customers can order ahead through the Pura Vida app and find a menu that mixes breakfast staples, bowls, sandwiches and specialty coffee with the new frozen-yogurt lineup. The brand has also teased plans for New York-exclusive flavors and rotating soft-serve drops in the coming months, a development reported by amNewYork, so Flatiron regulars can expect more market-specific experiments from the Miami-based concept.
