A Miami woman is facing multiple charges nearly nine months after investigators say she intentionally rammed an SUV carrying a woman and her minor stepson during a road-rage confrontation. Authorities say the woman’s own 1-year-old child was inside her vehicle as the alleged clash escalated.
The October 30, 2025, incident began when Leatha Bouie allegedly drove head-on into the victim’s vehicle near Northwest 101st Street and Northwest 12th Avenue, according to an arrest report reviewed by WSVN. The victim told investigators she tried to reverse away, but Bouie allegedly struck the SUV a second time.
Investigators say Bouie then got out and kicked and punched the SUV. The victim reportedly exited while holding a firearm and repeatedly told Bouie to leave, but authorities allege Bouie approached and pushed her.
Fearing for her safety, the victim fired one round into the ground to scare Bouie away, the arrest report says. No injuries were reported from the gunshot, and authorities say Bouie’s child remained inside her vehicle during the confrontation.
Four Charges Filed After Delayed Arrest
Deputies located Bouie in Northwest Miami-Dade on Tuesday after investigators identified her as the suspect, according to WSVN. The 30-year-old Miami woman is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, child abuse without great bodily harm, criminal mischief involving damage and battery.
A judge found probable cause and set Bouie’s total bond at $7,150. Under Florida law, aggravated assault can involve an assault committed with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, while child abuse without great bodily harm includes an intentional act that could reasonably be expected to cause physical or mental injury to a child, as outlined in the Florida aggravated-assault statute and the state child-abuse statute.
The charges are allegations, and Bouie is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The arrest brings a new public development to an incident that remained under investigation since last fall.
