A nearly five-year fugitive case quietly ended on a Mt. Juliet roadside when officers pulled over a 46-year-old Nashville man wanted on multiple violent felony charges, according to police. He was taken into custody without incident, wrapping up a warrant trail that began in 2021.
According to FOX 17 Nashville, officers realized the driver was wanted, initiated a traffic stop and arrested him. Police said he faces charges of aggravated assault involving strangulation, aggravated assault causing bodily injury and false imprisonment.
The report did not identify the alleged victim or outline what led up to the underlying charges. It also did not list a bond amount, attorney information or a scheduled court appearance.
Arrest Tied to Mt. Juliet’s Wider Warrant Crackdown
The case fits into a broader pattern Mt. Juliet police have been spotlighting this year. WSMV reported that officers arrested 342 wanted individuals in the first six months of 2026, with 88% of those arrested listed as nonresidents.
That context puts the Nashville man’s arrest in line with a department that routinely encounters people wanted outside Mt. Juliet while making traffic stops and conducting city patrols. Police have also emphasized the role of technology in those arrests.
In a July 16 update, the Mt. Juliet Police Department said license plate readers can alert officers to vehicles tied to crimes, stolen cars and wanted individuals. The department described the readers as one tool in a broader strategy that includes proactive policing, visible patrols and coordination with outside agencies.
