According to the department, the man was struck, fell, hit his head on the concrete and then spent an extended stretch in the hospital recovering.

In a Facebook post, the Minneapolis Police Department said the assault happened at about 1:55 a.m. on May 2 near 603 Washington Ave. N. The post included photos of two people in white T-shirts that investigators hope someone will recognize. The case is listed as No. 26-113509, and police said the victim was struck, went down hard on the pavement and suffered serious injuries that required a long hospital stay.
