An inmate at the Orleans Justice Center was found dead inside his cell early Monday, according to authorities. Keith Lampkin, chief administrative officer for the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, said in a statement that OPSO and on-site medical personnel immediately began life-saving techniques and called for emergency medical services. "Unfortunately, efforts to revive the individual were unsuccessful," Lampkin said, according to FOX 8. He added that the OPSO Investigative Services Bureau is working with Justice Center supervisors and is cooperating with New Orleans Police Department detectives under standard protocols that follow a suspected in-custody death.
