According to WSMV, Metro Nashville Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. As of about 10:30 a.m., detectives had not confirmed the condition of the body or exactly where it was located, while Tennessee Department of Transportation camera footage showed police near a semi-truck on the southbound shoulder by the Trinity Lane exit at mile marker 87.6.

The southbound entry ramp near Trinity Lane is closed, and the right shoulder is blocked while investigators work. The TDOT SmartWay system provides live roadway cameras and updates on closures, crashes, and traffic conditions across Tennessee.
