North Phoenix is getting a new caffeine stop with an unusually corporate address: PRESS Coffee is opening a compact cafe inside Sprouts Farmers Market’s new headquarters at CityNorth. The locally owned roaster plans a grand-opening weekend this Saturday and Sunday, complete with early hours, giveaways and the kind of grocery-run convenience that can turn “just grabbing kale” into a coffee order.
According to WhatNow Phoenix, the 700-square-foot cafe will sit near the headquarters entrance and have seating for 18. The menu will include breakfast sandwiches, burritos, empanadas, pastries, snacks and grab-and-go items, while the first 20 guests each day will receive a $5 PRESS gift card. Treats, canned cold brew and other giveaways are also planned.
PRESS’s own CityNorth location page lists a lineup built around coffee, espresso, cold brew, nitro cold brew, shakers and loose-leaf tea. The posted schedule settles into 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, giving early commuters a head start before the workday or shopping trip gets moving.
What’s On The CityNorth Menu
For a shop this compact, the food list is unusually broad. Alongside drinks and drip coffee, customers will be able to pick up retail coffee products and quick breakfast or snack options without making a separate stop at a standalone cafe.
The coffee bar is arriving just as Sprouts settles into its new northern Phoenix campus. The grocer said its CityNorth flagship opened last Friday beside a headquarters complex designed to anchor additional retail and restaurant activity, according to Sprouts Farmers Market.
The HQ opening also follows PRESS’s planned Peoria outpost inside a Sprouts store, a move Hoodline previously reported as the Phoenix roaster’s first West Valley location. WhatNow reports that PRESS now has 20 locations in the Phoenix area and seven cafes inside Sprouts stores, suggesting the smaller in-store format has become a meaningful part of the company’s Valley expansion.
PRESS says it has been roasting coffee in Phoenix since 2008, sourcing beans from coffee-growing regions around the world and operating its own farm in Panama, according to the company’s company history. For CityNorth workers, shoppers and visitors, the new cafe offers a very local answer to the office-campus coffee run—one that begins before most grocery aisles are fully awake.
