A teenage boy was hospitalized Wednesday after being shot in one leg at a west Phoenix apartment complex, with police still searching for whoever fired the gun. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Officers responded around 11 a.m. to an apartment complex near 71st Avenue and McDowell Road, according to KTAR News. They found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound before Phoenix Fire Department crews transported him to a local hospital.
Phoenix police detectives from the Violent Crime Bureau processed the scene and took over the investigation. No suspect had been identified or located in the initial report, and police have not released a possible motive or description.
