The shooting is under investigation, and authorities have released few details so far.
Multnomah County sheriff's deputies arrived around 12:30 a.m. at the park in the 5200 block of Northeast 223rd Avenue, according to KOIN. The outlet reported that details about the shooting remained limited, and officials had not publicly described what led to the gunfire. Deputies said the closure would remain in place until further notice.

The closure affects a regional park that normally opens at 4:30 a.m. and remains open until sunset. Metro, which manages Chinook Landing, describes it as one of Oregon's largest public boating facilities, with six launching lanes, picnic and viewing areas, docks, restrooms and access to the Marine Drive Trail.
