Roselawn just scored a manufacturing win. Prospiant Inc. cut the ribbon Wednesday on a new facility in the neighborhood, shifting roughly 125 employees into a single, larger plant that pulls together design, engineering and metal fabrication under one roof. The move brings a mix of shop-floor and technical jobs to the area and marks a sizable expansion for the greenhouse manufacturer.
According to the Cincinnati Business Courier, the new Roselawn operation now houses about 125 workers in roles ranging from design and engineering to metal fabricating. Prospiant President Burkhard Metzger was on hand for the grand-opening ceremony, which drew local attention and cameras.
City Incentive Backs the Move
Per City of Cincinnati Legistar documents, the project qualified for an eight-year job-creation income-tax credit that rebates 40% of the city income tax revenue generated by the new positions. The filing projects 120 created full-time-equivalent jobs at 7108 Shona Drive, with an average salary of $94,083 and about $11.29 million in new payroll. The estimated total value of the incentive is roughly $650,304.
The Legistar paperwork also lays out the fine print: Prospiant is given a two-year hiring ramp to reach those job numbers and must maintain the positions for an eight-year retention period after the credit term ends. In other words, the city is betting on a long-term relationship, not a quick jobs cameo.
Facility Details and Timeline
As reported by Greenhouse Management, Prospiant began operating at 7108 Shona Drive, a roughly 60,000-square-foot plant, with the move listed as effective Dec. 16, 2025. The larger footprint is intended to pull previously scattered operations into one space and expand both fabrication and powder-coating capacity.
Prospiant's website lists the Shona Drive address as its Cincinnati manufacturing and office facility, along with a local contact number, underscoring that this is now a central hub for the company.
The company is already on the hunt for more talent. Job postings on Indeed show openings for welder and designer roles, and Prospiant is also recruiting drafters and designers on job boards as production ramps up. That hiring push lines up with the two-year buildout period allowed under the city's JCTC agreement, according to City of Cincinnati Legistar documents.
Prospiant was formed in 2021 through the merger of three greenhouse firms and has been steadily consolidating its capabilities in Cincinnati to better serve commercial growers, according to the company. Leadership says the Roselawn plant gives them room to scale fabrication and service work, while putting engineers and designers within close reach of the manufacturing floor, a setup they argue will make the operation more responsive and efficient.
