Former Gadzooks Corner Becomes Downtown’s New Pie Stop
The restaurant has moved into the former Gadzooks Enchiladas & Soup building near the northwest corner of S. Arizona Avenue and Frye Road, a site the owners said fit the chain’s focus on walkability and easy access, as reported by East Valley Now. Local coverage first flagged the Chandler project as the brand’s initial out of state expansion and pegged an early 2026 opening target before the doors ultimately opened ahead of that timeline.
Menu: Detroit Pans, Slices and Build Your Own Pies
The chain’s full lineup includes Detroit style pies baked in 8"x10" pans, pizza by the slice and a build your own option with dozens of toppings, plus sandwiches, salads, wings and desserts alongside the pies, according to Best Pizza & Brew. Delivery listings show many specialty pies priced in the high teens to low 20 dollar range and sandwiches in the mid teens, as reflected on Uber Eats. Local reporting also put the broader pizza range between about 16 dollars for smaller Detroit pies and roughly 32 dollars for larger specialty pies, depending on size and toppings.
Owners Bet on a Walkable Downtown Crowd
Bradley Zimmer told Chandler News he is originally from San Diego and moved to the East Valley about four years ago. He said downtown Chandler made sense because its compact, walkable layout lines up with the chain’s San Diego footprint. General manager Diana Baldonado told the paper that some customers are driving in from Tucson and said the Chandler outpost already feels like “a piece of home” for regulars.
