Metro Nashville police are working to track down a hit-and-run driver after an early morning crash in South Nashville left a pedestrian fighting for his life. Officers were called to the intersection of Largo Drive and Wallace Road around 3 a.m., where they found a critically injured man in the roadway. He was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, and detectives have opened an active investigation after the vehicle took off from the scene.

According to WSMV, MNPD officers responded at roughly 3 a.m. and located the injured man at Largo Drive and Wallace Road. Detectives told the station they will review all available evidence from the scene to try to identify the vehicle and driver, and the search for the vehicle is ongoing.
