A 42-year-old woman was stabbed Saturday afternoon on Chicago's Far South Side after a street argument turned violent, and she was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, according to police.
The attack happened just after 3 p.m. on the 8200 block of South Peoria Street in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood. Police say the woman suffered a wound to her arm and was transported to Christ Hospital, where she was reported in good condition.
As reported by CBS Chicago, the victim had been arguing with an unknown woman outside when the dispute turned physical and the other woman produced a sharp object. The attacker allegedly stabbed the victim in the arm, then took off in a vehicle heading southbound on Peoria Street. Area Two detectives have opened an investigation and are asking any witnesses to step forward.
