A motorcyclist was killed early Saturday in West Palm Beach after deputies say a pickup truck made a wide turn across traffic on Southern Boulevard. The crash happened around 5 a.m. in the 8100 block of Southern Boulevard, and the rider was pronounced dead at 5:06 a.m. The pickup’s driver was not injured, and the motorcyclist died at the scene.
Crash details
According to WPTV, the victim was identified as 33-year-old Eury Abreu Herrera of West Palm Beach and the pickup driver as 31-year-old Diosdel Alonso. Investigators reported that a 2023 Suzuki GSXR-1000 struck the left rear of a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado as the truck exited the parking lot at 8199 Southern Boulevard and made a wide right turn across all lanes.
Deputies said Herrera was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene. Alonso was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt. The crash report notes that drugs and alcohol were a factor, and any charges are pending as the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation.
