Philadelphia restaurant power player Stephen Starr is extending his reach from the dining room to the dock. A company tied to the restaurateur has paid $13 million for a Mediterranean-style waterfront house at 6065 Pine Tree Drive in Miami Beach. The five-bedroom home, at roughly 4,700 square feet, sits on a roughly 10,214-square-foot lot with a pool and private dock, and the late June closing landed on one of Miami Beach’s most closely watched waterfront streets.
As reported by The Real Deal, property records show an entity connected to Starr paid $13 million for the house and identify the sellers as Souheil Salloum Chamaa and Myrna Domit. The Real Deal also notes the property first hit the market last year with an asking price near $14.9 million.
Listing histories and MLS data list the home as a 1924 build with about 4,697 square feet of interior space, five bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. The listing names Nancy Batchelor of Compass as the seller’s agent and Daniel Hysa as the buyer’s agent, and public listing pages record a June 22, 2026 recording date for the sale.
Starr's Florida Footprint Keeps Growing
Starr has quietly been building a serious South Florida presence, with concepts such as Makoto in Bal Harbour, Pastis in Wynwood and Steak 954 in Fort Lauderdale, and more projects already announced across the region, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. The Miami Beach buy tightens the connection between a high-profile hospitality operator and the city’s waterfront community as he continues to grow his restaurant roster in the state.
Pine Tree Drive's High End Hot Streak
Pine Tree Drive has been on a roll with deep-pocketed buyers. Recent headline-grabbing deals include Teddy Sagi’s roughly $23.8 million teardown and pollster Mark Penn’s $17.5 million purchase, a pattern that keeps the corridor trading at top-tier prices. The Real Deal has tracked those sales along with the broader uptick in waterfront transactions.
The Starr-linked buyer now joins a roster of high-net-worth owners reshaping Miami Beach’s waterfront this year, and the Pine Tree Drive sale caps a busy run of neighborhood deals through spring and early summer, per Trulia. Final closing prices point to continued appetite for turnkey waterfront access, even as some sellers continue to float lofty asking numbers.
