Two teenagers tried to run, but police say their alleged phone-snatching spree came to a quick stop in the Tenderloin last Tuesday, after a robbery on the 1700 block of Post Street ended in a brief foot chase and multiple arrests.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, officers chased down and detained a 15-year-old male and a 14-year-old male after the reported Post Street robbery, cataloged under case number 260-411-936. During the arrest, officers recovered several cell phones, including one that investigators say belonged to the Post Street victim and another that has been tied to a Muni coach robbery reported the night before.
Police say the teens now face a slate of charges, including robbery, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest. The information came in a department post on X. As noted by the San Francisco Police, the investigation is still active, and both youths were booked into juvenile custody.

The takedown lands in the middle of a broader crackdown on street robberies and organized retail theft in San Francisco's downtown corridors. A June sweep, described as a Mission Street retail crackdown, documented dozens of arrests and recovered merchandise during recent enforcement actions, with local reporting also noting plain-clothes operations and drone-assisted tracking to follow serial property crime patterns this spring.
Charges and legal process
Because the suspects are juveniles, authorities are not releasing their names, and the cases will move through juvenile court and probation channels. SFPD says both teens were booked into the San Francisco Juvenile Justice Center. The city's Juvenile Probation Department lists the Juvenile Justice Center at 375 Woodside Avenue and oversees detention and probation services for youth in San Francisco.
