A 16-year-old boy was shot Thursday night along Plainfield’s Main Street, prompting officers to execute a search warrant at a home in the 24100 block, authorities said. The wounded teen was taken by private car to Plainfield Fire Protection District Station 1, then transferred to Loyola University Medical Center for further treatment.
Officers were called to the area at about 8:50 p.m., and detectives later identified an 18-year-old man as a suspect, according to CBS Chicago. With assistance from the Joliet Police Department’s Special Operations Squad, investigators served a search warrant at a home linked to that suspect as part of the ongoing investigation.
