An afternoon swim at Tibble Fork Reservoir in American Fork Canyon turned tragic on Monday when a man in his 20s went under the water and never resurfaced. A rapid, multi-agency response followed, and search teams later recovered his body from the popular mountain reservoir, officials said.

In a Facebook post, the Utah County Sheriff's Office said first responders launched a search shortly after the swimmer was reported missing. Crews later located the man and recovered his body from Tibble Fork Reservoir.
The agency said it used "every available resource" during the effort. Officials also noted, "we will not be releasing the name of the individual at this time." No additional details about what led up to the man going under have been made public.
Roads Shut Down During Search
As the search got underway, State Route 92 and the SR-144 turnoff into Tibble Fork were closed to the public, according to the Utah County Sheriff's Office.
