Ballwin has a fresh reason to linger over a latte. Pana Coffee & Desserts, a snug 12-seat café on Kehrs Mill Road, is folding Greek family recipes into specialty coffee service. Behind the counter, owner Panayiotis "Pana" Stavrianos is pairing housemade pastries with a rotating espresso program and blended fraps, bringing his family baking traditions into a neighborhood coffee shop setting.
The city signed off on the concept in April, granting a special-use exception for the café and outdoor seating at the Barn at Lucerne and clearing the former office space for restaurant use. That approval opened the door for Pana Coffee & Desserts to take the end-cap at 910 Kehrs Mill Road, Suite 102 and start serving this month. According to the City of Ballwin meeting packet, the ordinance passed on April 13, 2026.
A Menu Rooted In Family Recipes
The bar is stocked with beans from Course Coffee Roasters, and the drink list leans hard into signature offerings such as a Baklava Latte, classic Greek frapé, Thai iced coffee, and several blended fraps, along with French press service and nitro cold brew. In the pastry case, baked goods like baklava, bougatsa, koulouria, and amygdalota are made on-site by Stavrianos' mother, who provided many of the recipes. "The fewer ingredients, the better," Stavrianos told St. Louis Magazine, which notes that he plans to test extended Friday and Saturday evening hours.
From The Majestic To Kehrs Mill Road
Stavrianos is not exactly new to the hospitality world. His grandfather opened the Majestic Restaurant & Bar in the Central West End, and the Ballwin café nods to that history with memorabilia and LPs salvaged from the earlier era. Pana Coffee & Desserts sits at 910 Kehrs Mill Road, Suite 102 and lists its opening hours as 7 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m.–3 p.m. on Sunday. For now the shop can be reached at 636-438-7223, and its owner says he will test extended weekend evening hours as business builds, according to St. Louis Magazine.
