A usually quiet Olympia Heights block turned into a crime scene early Thursday when, according to sheriff’s deputies, a southwest Miami‑Dade man allegedly stabbed a resident in the chest outside a home near Tropical Park. The suspect had reportedly told one person he was there to stab someone named “Cesar,” but then attacked a different resident instead, leaving that person with what deputies described as a serious chest wound. The victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment, and deputies later arrested the suspect at a home a few blocks from the scene.

According to the Miami‑Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies identified the suspect as 38‑year‑old Yury Lobaina Terrero, who showed up at a house in the 4100 block of Southwest 83rd Avenue just after 5 a.m. The arrest report states that Lobaina became aggressive, revealed the outline of a knife under his clothing, and then stabbed the resident once in the chest. The victim was taken to Jackson South Medical Center for treatment, and Lobaina now faces attempted murder and drug possession charges, according to Local 10.

Deputies say surveillance footage captured the suspect removing clothing and tossing items onto a sidewalk. Investigators later recovered a bloodied knife from a nearby trash bin, along with a vial of lidocaine found in his clothing. Authorities located Lobaina a few blocks northwest of the scene that evening and took him into custody. Jail records show he is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, per the Miami‑Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department.
