A Tucker man convicted in a 2023 shooting outside a DeKalb County pub now has two life sentences on his record. Quinterius Sutton, 28, was found guilty after prosecutors said he killed 21-year-old Trevor Stephenson.
According to CBS Atlanta, a jury found Sutton guilty Wednesday of two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm. A judge sentenced him to life in prison with the possibility of parole, followed by 15 additional years.
The DeKalb County Superior Court trial calendar lists Sutton in a case involving murder, aggravated assault and firearm charges. The court record identifies him as the defendant in a case that had been scheduled for trial earlier this year.
Prosecutors Rejected Sutton’s Self-Defense Claim
The shooting happened Aug. 23, 2023, at a pub on the 3200 block of Tucker Norcross Road, where officers found Stephenson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. As reported by CBS Atlanta, Sutton admitted shooting Stephenson but told prosecutors he acted in self-defense after Stephenson allegedly fired at him.
Investigators disputed that account, saying all bullet casings recovered at the scene came from the same weapon. That evidence indicated Stephenson did not fire at Sutton, prosecutors said.
The latest sentence is also tied to a separate fatal shooting in Chamblee. Hoodline previously reported on Sutton’s arrest after Anderson Adonay-Perdomo, 23, was shot at a Chamblee gas station in 2024; Sutton later pleaded guilty in that case and received his first life sentence earlier this summer.
