A quiet Monday afternoon at a Wahiawā McDonald’s turned grim when a man believed to be in his 50s or 60s was critically injured in an apparent stabbing on South Kamehameha Highway. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services treated him at the scene with advanced life-support measures before rushing him to an emergency room in critical condition. According to Hawaii News Now, EMS crews were called to the restaurant at about 3:15 p.m. and found the victim suffering from a critical stab wound. Paramedics provided advanced life support, then transported him to a hospital. As the outlet noted, “No other details were immediately available.”
Wahiawā's recent violent episodes
The attack is the latest in a troubling run of serious stabbings in the small Central Oʻahu town this year. Hoodline previously covered a deadly Wahiawā street stabbing in June and a fatal Wendy’s stabbing in February, both of which triggered HPD homicide investigations. Those earlier cases have already ratcheted up concern about violence along stretches of Kamehameha Highway.
