The crash happened roughly two hours before Ogden's Horse & Hitch and Grande parades were set to roll at 9 a.m. Officials at the scene reported no other injuries.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, in details reported by KUTV, the truck hauling the Weber State float lost its trailer on the ramp. The runaway trailer hit the Honda and partially knocked down a pole. Photographs shared with KUTV show the crumpled float and damaged sedan at the scene. The outlet reported that the trailer tongue struck the driver in the head and that the driver was taken to a nearby hospital but was not critically injured.

The Horse & Hitch Parade and Grande Parade are scheduled to start at 9 a.m. at 31st Street and Washington Boulevard, according to the Ogden Pioneer Days schedule. Parade staging for floats typically lines up along 31st Street between 30th and 32nd streets, which places float traffic close to the I-15 ramps.
