Nearly nine years after gunfire shattered a summer night on the West Side, San Antonio police are once again asking the public to help find whoever killed Christopher Lozano. The case remains open, and authorities are dangling a reward in hopes that someone finally steps up with the tip that breaks the stalemate.
Case details
Officers were called around 9 p.m. on July 27, 2017, to a home near El Paso and Barclay streets, where they found Lozano suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a hospital and later died, according to FOX San Antonio. The killing, in a residential stretch on the city's West Side, left family and neighbors with unanswered questions that still hang over the block.
What investigators say
Detectives say a gray four-door Nissan pulled up outside the home and at least one person inside opened fire before the car sped away. No arrests followed, and the San Antonio Police Department now lists Lozano's killing on its Cold Cases page as an unsolved homicide while it continues to seek fresh leads.

The same stretch of El Paso Street has seen other violence as well. In July 2017, the San Antonio Express-News reported another fatal shooting there and subsequent arrests in a separate case, though at the time officers said they could not confirm any connection between the incidents.
