West Town is about to get a new spot for serious martini fans as John and Jess Feller - the duo behind Aged & Infused and the Happy Hour Shop - prepare to open Home Bar later this month. The snug cocktail room will move into the former Rhine Hall Distillery space and is pitched as a neighborhood hangout built around martinis and a short, rotating cocktail list. Expect eight cocktails, a limited wine offering, a few beers, and a small retail corner stacked with cocktail supplies and vintage glassware. The owners say they will staff the bar themselves at first and plan to expand hours after a soft opening.
Club 'Tini - a martini membership that includes a one-on-one 'tini session and one martini each month for a year - is already on sale for $100. According to Aged & Infused, members also receive 10% off Home Bar purchases, and the membership begins when the room opens.
Menu, Price and Hours
As reported by Block Club Chicago, the initial drink list will feature eight cocktails priced at about $12 each, plus a limited wine list and a short draft selection that includes Old Style and Begyle Brewing’s Free Bird American Pale Ale. Begyle’s site lists Free Bird among the brewery’s American Pale Ales. The owners told the outlet they plan to start with modest hours: 4–9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon–9 p.m. Saturday, then add service on Wednesday and Sunday later on.
Where It Sits and the Space’s Past
Home Bar is moving into the Kinzie Industrial Corridor space that formerly housed Rhine Hall Distillery, according to Rhine Hall Distillery's site. The Fellers will continue operating their Aged & Infused product line and the Happy Hour Shop retail outpost while adding Home Bar to their portfolio, a business profile from Bluevine notes.
Beyond the drinks, Home Bar will include a retail nook stocked with Aged & Infused kits and vintage glassware, a natural extension of the couple’s West Town storefront. “We’ve spent years helping you make better cocktails at home. Now we finally get to make one for you,” the owners write on their site, per Aged & Infused. Block Club Chicago also flagged a local curiosity: the Fellers’ three-legged cat, Mr. Biscuits, who has roughly 50,000 followers on social media and, the owners joked, “drinks for free.”
