Three adults were hospitalized after a boat carrying seven people capsized in Lake Michigan off Chicago’s South Side Monday night, with all three reportedly in good condition.
Emergency crews responded just before 8 p.m. near the South Side lakefront, according to WGN-TV. The Chicago Fire Department said seven people were aboard when the vessel overturned, and three adults were taken to an area hospital.
The initial account did not identify what caused the boat to capsize, and officials had not released the identities of those involved. No additional details about the vessel or the rescue were immediately available.

The rescue comes weeks after a separate boat collision near Monroe Harbor left one woman dead and four others seriously injured. ABC7 Chicago reported that five of the 14 people involved in that June crash were hospitalized, while others declined treatment.
