A 24-year-old woman was shot in the foot during a domestic dispute in New Orleans’ Algiers neighborhood, and police are searching for the man they say is responsible. The suspected gunman, 25-year-old Toren Duncan, is wanted as investigators work to piece together what happened.
New Orleans police responded to reports of shots fired near Indiana Street and Behrman Highway on Sunday, according to WDSU. Officers initially did not find a shooting victim, but detectives later learned the woman had been taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police said she reported that Duncan pointed a gun downward during the argument before it discharged and struck her foot.
Police Have Issued a Warrant for Toren Duncan
A warrant has been issued for Duncan on suspicion of aggravated battery, though the allegation has not been tested in court and he is presumed innocent. The shooting investigation remains active, and detectives have not announced an arrest or released additional information about the woman’s condition.
