A motorcyclist died Tuesday morning after a crash at an intersection in Northeast Philadelphia, leaving investigators working to determine what happened. The rider was taken to a hospital but died less than an hour after police received the crash call. Authorities had not released the victim’s identity in the initial report.
According to NBC10 Philadelphia, officers responded around 7:20 a.m. to Aramingo Avenue and Church Street. The motorcyclist was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he died at about 8:10 a.m.; the scene remained secured as the investigation continued.
The fatal crash is the latest serious two-wheeled collision reported along or near Aramingo Avenue this year. In March, a 71-year-old motorcyclist died after a fall on the 3800 block, while a scooter rider was killed at Aramingo Avenue and Margaret Street in July, according to a March Aramingo death and a July scooter crash.
Statewide, motorcycle crashes fell in 2025, but they still produced 186 fatalities involving motorcycle drivers or passengers, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The report counted 2,927 motorcycle crashes, down from 3,298 in 2024, while fatal-injury crashes fell from 218 to 186.

Police have not publicly described the circumstances of Tuesday’s crash, including whether another vehicle was involved, and no additional details were available in the initial report.
