Sunny Monday Brings A Light North Breeze
Monday will stay sunny with north winds at 5 to 10 mph, becoming more noticeable during the afternoon. Skies should remain mostly clear overnight, with a low near 69 and only a light northeast breeze.
Temperatures Climb Into The 90s
The warming trend arrives quickly: Tuesday should reach 91 degrees, followed by 93 on Wednesday and about 95 on Thursday. Overnight lows will also rise, from around 70 Tuesday night to the mid-70s by Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Storm Chances Return Late Week
A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms returns Friday, with a 20% chance and a high near 94. Saturday brings a 30% storm chance mainly after 1 p.m., while Sunday stays mostly sunny with a smaller 20% chance of afternoon storms.
The NWS Memphis forecast discussion says some locations could see heat index values approach 105 degrees next weekend. Anyone planning outdoor work or weekend activities should take the cooler morning hours when possible, drink water regularly and build in breaks from the heat.
