The armed robbery happened around 2:52 a.m. on the 3400 block of South California Avenue, and the victim was struck multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the suspects entered the business carrying handguns and demanded money before shooting the man, according to ABC7 Chicago. No other injuries were reported in connection with the shooting. Area One Detectives, the regional unit that handles felony investigations across five South Side police districts, are now leading the inquiry.
