A 39-year-old Chicago woman pleaded guilty Friday to sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Streator, moving the case toward a prison sentence that could total 30 years. Patricia D. Johnson is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
Johnson entered a blind plea to two counts of criminal sexual assault in La Salle County Circuit Court, according to Shaw Local. The plea came without a sentencing agreement or cap on the amount of prison time prosecutors can seek.
Streator police opened an investigation into reported acts in February 2025. Prosecutors said DNA testing by a forensic scientist matched a sample retrieved from the victim to Johnson.
Sentencing Is Set For October 1
Chief Judge H. Chris Ryan Jr. is scheduled to preside over Johnson’s sentencing on October 1. Johnson will have an opportunity to address the judge before the sentence is imposed.
Each count is classified as a Class 1 felony, and the two sentences must be served back-to-back, according to the case details. One count also requires an 85% minimum sentence and makes Johnson ineligible for probation.
Illinois law generally sets the prison range for a Class 1 felony at four to 15 years. With consecutive sentences on both counts, Johnson faces an aggregate sentence of up to 30 years, though the judge will determine the final term at the October hearing.
