Cincinnati is in for a soggy, stormy Wednesday, with rounds of thunderstorms bookending the day and a Flood Watch in effect through 11 p.m. Heavy rain could dump 1 to 2 inches locally, while temperatures climb toward 88 degrees.
Storms Could Arrive In Rounds
Showers and thunderstorms are expected before 11 a.m., followed by a brief lower rain chance around midday. Storm chances rise again during the afternoon, especially from about 2 p.m. onward, with a southwest wind at 2 to 8 mph.
The National Weather Service's Wilmington office says the risk of severe weather and flash flooding remains elevated across southwest Ohio, southeast Indiana and northern Kentucky. Large hail and damaging winds remain possible, but repeated downpours are the bigger concern where storms track over the same ground.
Flood Watch Runs Through Wednesday Night
The National Weather Service says excessive runoff could flood creeks, streams, rivers and other low-lying or flood-prone spots. Drivers should avoid highway dips and underpasses if water rises, and be ready to move to higher ground if a Flash Flood Warning is issued.
More Storms Before Weekend Heat
Tonight will stay mostly cloudy with a low near 70 and a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Thursday remains unsettled with a high near 88 and a 50% rain chance, while Thursday night brings an 80% chance of showers and storms.
Friday could bring more showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m., with another high near 88. The forecast turns drier and hotter for the weekend, with mostly sunny skies near 90 Saturday and sunny conditions near 93 Sunday.
A chance of storms returns Sunday night before cooler, mostly sunny weather settles in Monday and Tuesday. Monday's high should reach about 86, followed by a more comfortable 84 degrees Tuesday.
