
A man was seriously wounded Tuesday after being shot multiple times on Chicago’s Near West Side, with the violence briefly shutting down inbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway. The shooting happened around 3 a.m. in the 1200 block of South Ruble Street.
The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Chicago police said no description of the attacker was available, while Area 3 detectives continued investigating.
Dan Ryan Lanes Reopened Before Dawn
Inbound lanes near the shooting scene were temporarily closed during the investigation and reopened around 4:40 a.m., Illinois State Police reported. Police had not released additional details about a possible motive, the circumstances leading up to the shooting or any arrests as of Tuesday.
