A 21-year-old Chicago man is accused of killing two young women in separate Far South Side shootings, one in 2024 and another in 2025. The charges bring a new development to two cases that had remained largely unresolved in the East Side neighborhood.
Anthony Nunnally has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, according to CBS Chicago. Police say he was identified as the gunman in the death of a 17-year-old girl on South Mackinaw Avenue and in the shooting death of 19-year-old Sierra Evans.
Two East Side Shootings Linked To Same Suspect
Evans was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 9500 block of South Avenue N on Sept. 28, 2024. Her family and friends later gathered for a vigil at the scene, with ABC7 Chicago reporting that loved ones described the 19-year-old as kind-hearted and undeserving of the violence.
The other victim was shot and killed on Oct. 26, 2025, in the 11000 block of South Mackinaw Avenue, CBS Chicago reported. Police have not publicly said whether the two young women knew each other or had any connection beyond the allegation that Nunnally was responsible for both killings.
Nunnally Was Already In Custody On Felony Cases
Nunnally was already being held at Cook County Jail on felony carjacking and armed robbery charges when the murder case was announced. Records from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office list him in custody on aggravated vehicle hijacking involving a firearm and armed robbery-related charges.
He was due to appear in court Wednesday on the murder charges. The initial reports did not include details about the evidence police say led to his identification or indicate whether prosecutors had disclosed a possible motive.
Charges Remain Allegations
The two murder counts are accusations, not convictions, and Nunnally is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The upcoming court appearance is expected to provide the next public update in the cases involving Evans and the unidentified 17-year-old victim.
