El Paso is starting today clear and around 75°F, but the morning cool-down will be short-lived. The city is headed for a sunny high near 101°F, with the week ahead bringing repeated 100-plus afternoons and very little rain for the lowlands.
Triple-Digit Heat Becomes The Main Story
Saturday’s high should reach about 101°F, followed by a low near 77°F tonight. East winds of 5 to 9 mph will offer only limited relief, and the National Weather Service in El Paso and Santa Teresa says temperatures will remain well above normal across the region.
Tomorrow will be nearly as hot, with a high near 100°F and a low around 76°F. Monday climbs to about 102°F, while Tuesday through Friday are expected to top out near 103°F each afternoon.
Mountain Storms Fade As Lowlands Stay Dry
Most El Paso neighborhoods and the I-10 corridor should stay dry Saturday, with rain chances around 1% in the city. A few isolated showers or thunderstorms may develop over higher terrain, especially near Grant County, with brief downpours and gusty winds up to 45 mph.
Those mountain storm chances are expected to become even more limited on Sunday and largely disappear across the region next week. The latest outlook marks a sharper turn toward extended heat and dryness than the stormier setup discussed in Hoodline’s earlier forecast.
Warm Nights Will Offer Little Relief
Overnight lows will stay in the upper 70s through Friday, keeping homes and pavement warm well after sunset. Afternoon humidity will be very low, but dry air does not make triple-digit heat harmless, especially for people working or exercising outside.
No watches, warnings, or advisories are currently posted for the El Paso area. Residents planning outdoor activities should still schedule strenuous work for the cooler morning hours, drink water regularly and take breaks from the heat during the afternoon peak.
