Franklin is putting a new downtown park on the summer calendar with three Thursday nights of music, food and outdoor activity. The first-ever Concerts in the Park series at Bicentennial Park starts at 6 p.m. each night, giving residents a reason to leave the house that is considerably more appealing than another appointment reminder.
According to a July 31 post from the City of Franklin, the lineup begins Thursday, Aug. 6, with Tennessee Backroad Line Dancing, followed by 5 Points Swing on Aug. 20 and the Williamson County Community Band on Aug. 27. The city is inviting families, friends and neighbors to turn the new park into a shared summer hangout.
What To Know About Franklin’s New Concert Series
All three evenings are scheduled at Bicentennial Park, which the City of Franklin’s park page describes as a community hub with an open-air pavilion, shaded picnic areas, a public plaza, greenway connections and a stage for small performances and outdoor movies. The park sits between 3rd Avenue, North Margin and the Harpeth River in downtown Franklin.
The venue itself is still relatively new to Franklin’s event calendar. The city held the park’s public opening in June 2025 after a years-long redevelopment of the former Georgia Boot Factory site, according to a city media release.
Three August Nights, Three Ways To Show Up
The opening night’s line-dancing component points to a participatory start rather than a sit-and-listen concert, while 5 Points Swing should bring a more classic dance-band flavor to the Aug. 20 date. The Williamson County Community Band closes the run Aug. 27, giving the series a hometown ensemble finish.
The city’s pitch is simple: “We all need something on the calendar that isn’t an appointment.” For Franklin residents, the answer this August will be a lawn, a stage and three chances to make plans that do not involve rescheduling anything.
