A Sumner County man allegedly turned one DUI arrest into two in less than half a day, authorities say, after a hit-and-run arrest was followed by another incident at a state park campground. Davis Fyke was arrested twice Saturday on allegations involving impaired driving, according to officials.
WSMV reported that Fyke was first arrested in Gallatin after an alleged hit-and-run. Deputies later found him unconscious at a state park, where he was arrested, booked, and released later that night.
Authorities say Fyke then returned to the park and allegedly began drinking again. In a post from the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, officials said he drove off-road through the campground, where beer cans were found spilled from his vehicle.
Second DUI Arrest Brings $125,000 Bond
Fyke was arrested on a second DUI charge that same day, authorities said. WSMV reported that his bond was set at $125,000.
Sumner County Recorded 144 Alcohol-Related Crashes In 2025
The unusual arrest came against a broader backdrop of alcohol-impaired driving risks across Tennessee. Data from the Tennessee Department of Safety show 144 known alcohol-related traffic crashes in Sumner County during 2025, compared with 175 in 2024.
The allegations against Fyke remain subject to court proceedings. The publicly released details did not indicate whether anyone was injured in either incident.
