According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, rain chances will stay low Monday at about 14%, with a northwest wind near 5 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 73 degrees and light east-northeast winds.
Tuesday Turns Hotter Before Storms Move In
Tuesday will be mostly sunny and hotter, with a high near 93 degrees and heat-index values reaching about 101. A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives after 1 a.m. Wednesday, although rainfall is expected to remain limited.
Wednesday brings the week’s more notable storm threat, with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high near 92 degrees. The chance continues into Wednesday night, when the forecast allows for rainfall totals between three-quarters of an inch and 1 inch in some spots.
Sunny Weekend, But Heat Builds Back
Thursday could begin with a few rain showers before sunrise, then turn sunny with a high near 92 degrees. Friday through Sunday look mostly sunny and dry, with highs of 93, 94 and 95 degrees and overnight lows ranging from 72 to 76.
The weather service says hotter, more humid conditions are expected to return by the weekend, with heat indices potentially reaching levels that could bring heat headlines by Saturday. No watches, warnings or advisories are listed for Memphis in the current forecast, but outdoor workers and event-goers should favor morning hours, drink water and plan regular shade breaks as temperatures climb.
