A June shooting outside a Middletown apartment complex has grown into a more serious felony case, with prosecutors adding charges against a man accused of firing nine shots at two people.
Butler County grand jurors added felonious assault and tampering with evidence charges against Zachary Wells, according to WLWT's report. Investigators say the gunfire erupted June 6 in the parking lot of the Emerald Green Apartments, where one bullet struck the man's car.
According to court documents, Wells told investigators that he fired the shots, left the scene and later disposed of the gun. He remains held on a $300,000 bond as the case moves forward.
