An 82-year-old Charlotte woman who prompted a missing-persons investigation yesterday has been located and safely reunited with her family, police said today. Gail Rubenstein had last been seen leaving her home that morning, prompting Charlotte-Mecklenburg police to ask the public for help.

Rubenstein was last seen around 7 a.m. Tuesday after leaving a residence in the 700 block of Clayfield Court, according to the department’s missing-persons notice. Police said she has a cognitive impairment and might be lost or confused.
The initial notice described Rubenstein as 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 100 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. She was believed to be driving a silver 2018 Mazda3 Touring with blue rims and North Carolina license plate BDB5852.
