Orem’s Fancy Burger is trading its roaming food-truck era for something more permanent — and a little more polished: a full restaurant on State Street where smash burgers share the room with weekend jazz. The concept, which began in 2023, has moved into its own space and is now pitching a sit-down burger experience that is part dinner, part small local night out.
The City of Orem Government spotlighted the move in a Saturday Facebook reel, describing Fancy Burger as a burger joint unlike anything seen before and noting live jazz on weekends. The restaurant’s current website lists the State Street location and offers reservations, pickup, and delivery.
From food truck to State Street dining room
Fancy Burger’s public footprint shows the transition from mobile service to permanent restaurant. A 2023 menu listing documents the brand in Orem, while a current restaurant listing describes a sit-down operation with burgers, salads, fries, desserts and live music.
At the center is the burger program. Fancy Burger says its buns are made in-house in a Hokkaido milk-bun style, while its patty uses a steak blend with local cured bacon mixed in, according to the company’s description of the concept.
Weekend jazz gives the burger joint a different beat
Weekend jazz appears to be part of the restaurant’s identity, not just an opening-week gimmick. Provo Music Magazine listed Fancy Burger’s Friday and Saturday performances in 2024, with music scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m.
That combination gives Orem another kind of local dining option: a place that can handle a quick burger order but also encourages customers to sit down and stay awhile. Fancy Burger’s move from a mobile setup into a permanent State Street home marks a small-business milestone for a concept that is betting burgers can be a little more dressed up without losing their messy appeal.
