A popular Palm Beach café is crossing the bridge into West Palm Beach, bringing its beachy brand of coffee, breakfast, smoothies, and lunch to one of the city’s busiest southside corridors. Drift Palm Beach is planning a second location, giving West Palm residents a new option for the kind of casual daytime food that disappears quickly when everyone suddenly decides they are “eating healthy.”
The new Drift is planned for 4919 South Dixie Highway, according to What Now. The announcement did not include an opening date, but the location will expand the café beyond its original Palm Beach home.
Drift’s existing café is the work of husband-and-wife owners Lindsey and Josh, who describe the concept as a fresh take on breakfast and lunch served in a bright, welcoming setting. Drift’s official site lists specialty coffee, pastries, smoothies, and all-day food built around a relaxed coastal atmosphere.
West Palm Beach Gets Drift’s Second Act
The menu is expected to carry over the brand’s mix of healthy breakfast favorites, sandwiches, salads, seasonal specials, smoothie bowls, and house-made baked goods. That gives the South Dixie location a broad daytime lane, whether the customer is after a quick coffee, a post-workout smoothie, or a lunch that does not require a reservation and a three-hour commitment.
The planned expansion was also highlighted by Meyer Lucas Real Estate, which said the original Palm Beach café will remain open while the new shop serves customers on the mainland. The real estate firm described South Dixie Highway as a growing corridor with restaurants, boutique retail, wellness businesses, and residential development.
For Drift, the move is a relatively modest geographic leap but a meaningful neighborhood shift: from an island café catering to Palm Beach locals and visitors to a second shop positioned for West Palm Beach residents, commuters, and people moving through the broader southside area. The company has not announced when the doors will open, so for now, the next step is watching the space—and keeping an eye out for the first West Palm coffee run.
