Portland starts Sunday, August 9, near 57 degrees with humid air and a mostly clear sky, offering a cooler reset after five straight days in the 90s. The break is temporary, though: temperatures will climb back toward the upper 80s by Friday.
Sunny Sunday, With Afternoon Winds
Sunday will be sunny with a high near 82 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Portland. Northwest winds will run 3 to 8 mph during the day and may gust close to 20 mph inland, especially from the afternoon into the evening.
Sunday night should stay mostly clear, with temperatures dipping to around 57 degrees. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph overnight, so patio umbrellas and other lightweight backyard items may want to take the night off.
